| Mare-E's Fish Page |
Mar-E has been a long time fishing woman. "I used to go fishing with my father as a girl." said Mar-E "We would go down to Hull Gut for flounder." Dad worked at the Edison plant on Fore River and he would tell us when the stripers were hanging near the wall and Elmer and I would go down and catch them. I used to catch a lobster on the hook almost every time I went out on the Harvey's boats. And of course we threw them back. When I was fishing at Pemberton Pier with Elmer in 1970, he had a brand new fish stringer, which we filled in no time and he promptly lost. Almost had to find a new fishing partner. Oh well can't turn back the clock.

Just started ice fishing and it is a blast. When the flag snaps up and you see the spool spinning out......Great! Proper technique and preparation brought these nice fish to the hook. Well maybe a little beginners luck too. Let them take some line and then hang on till the fish tries to pull away. Start to pull the fish in and the circle hook will do it's work.

Charter Fishing allows us to visit different areas of New England to meet people and catch fish. |
Summertime finds me going on charters with Elmer to check out the fishing in other parts of New England. The fish make the trip, but being out to sea is worth the money anytime.

Tautog are tough to catch and fluke a lot of fun. I catch more than Elmer so I hide how many I really get. Haddock are down there! But great for the table. Charters can be a lot of fun. I like talking to the other people on the boat to see where they come from and how often they go out fishing.

Carp are a lot of fun and a lot of work. The July 3rd fish is my favorite carp as I caught it without any coaching. Thanks to Vinny and Larry I am now on my own to gain experience.
