Day 3 March 15, 2010
And the Storm Rages on!
Still standing waiting for the tide to come in once more!
Still another long ride out to the beach. The ocean was already approaching normal high tide levels and we still had 3 hours to go. There were many more spots along the road to the Gurnet that showed signs of wash over during the night. In one spot the road is almost washed out but it is still passable.
Sticks and stones can even break a beaches bones!
Tons and tons of these stones now litter the beach where the sand dunes once stood. So far most houses have suffered only minor damage, but there are many decks and stairways that will have to be rebuilt. Sand fences, forget these ones.
Every day seems to steal more sand and replacing it with debris. This once beautiful tree appears to be doomed. We hope that it is all that is.

After!

Every day brings more pounding from the angry sea.
This is what this beach is supposed to be about!
Elmer and Flann enjoy the water while in the background the summer residents enjoy the beach.
Here's hoping this summer will be a good one for all!
