"Bite Me Bait Co."
Carp Cup 2007
Scott Osmond winner!
October 20, 2007
John H. Sheehy Memorial Park, Lowell, Massachusetts. Scott Osmond, one of the country's top carp fishermen, won the 1st Annual "Bite Me Bait Co" Carp Cup Tournament. Scott brings a host of American Carp Society, carp angling awards and Massachusetts fishing awards with him. Bite Me Bait Co , VP Larry Ryan, (alias Elmer Mudguaard), said that the tournament had some fine quality fishermen that made the day. " We would like to thank Scott, his father, (New Hampshire and Maine CAG Chairman) Vaughn Osmond , Rhode Island Chairman, Dave Pickering, and former Connecticut Chairman Jerome Moisand for bringing legitimacy to the tournament." " Scott knows how to catch them. " said Jimdogg who fished in vain for his first carp. Scott will hold the cup until next year when he must bring and defend his claim to it. We hope to fill the pegs at next years tournament.

Rainbow brought the late fish run!
The day started out with a blackout of the surrounding neighborhoods. After brief introductions, Everyone went to his favorite peg and Elmer took the BMBC "boys" to the right, where there was plenty of room to show them the proper techniques of baiting and method making. Elmer's son Tom stopped by on his way to the Tewksbury High School football game, where he coaches and teaches. Elmer showed him how it was done as he hauled out a 15 pound fish. An active weather front rolled back and forth across the area all day. Finally ,a late in the day a thunder storm, passed to the east giving all a splendid rainbow to ponder and a sudden flurry of bite alarms.

Chris caught some nice fish! Even Elmer caught a fine fish. Local resident Roland took a 16+ fish that pleased his son. Vinny chipped in with a nice common to bring the total fish caught to 11, with 5 fish weighing in at over 15 pounds. As you can see sunlight made a big difference in bringing out the true colors of the fish.

Yeah I know the pros made it look easy but that's what it is all about. Many folks stopped on their way thru to ask questions and watch the fish being caught. Bite Me Bait Co's IT guy ,VP Bob Stevens, ("Billy Bob") was there along with VP Jim Hackett , ("Jimdogg"). Larry and Mary Ryan website editors organized the event (Elmer & Mar-e) "Mary does most of the planning for the "fishin" and did a fine job. " said Elmer. "Without her organizational skills I'd be lost. " said Elmer. Elmer tried his best to hang on to the trophy going so far as to smash it to pieces. But krazy glue and "Jimdogg" had it as good as new in no time.
