George's Island and Fort Warren was one of our play areas growing up in the "Neck". We would hop the fences and go down into the dark tunnels and corridors. It was scary and fun. As it turns out a good friend of mine, from my current town, was the man in charge out there for years. There are many good places to fish in the immediate area of George's Island. Don't forget to visit the island and there is a ferry that travels to all the islands during the summer. for a small fee you can spend all day on the islands.
