2007 Abington Fishing Derby a huge success!
The weather could not have been better for this years fishing derby. Chief Majenski and all his crew once again did a stand up job.

Once again a standing room only crowd surrounded Island Grove pond in Abington, Massachusetts. The annual Abington Police Fishing Derby was on. Volunteers started to show up well before the starting time of 07:45 to make sure all went well. Chief Majenski should be proud of his staff for their efforts on behalf of the "yutes" of the town. The "Bite Me Bait Co." brought the kayak fleet out to lend an hand and do some fishing ourselves. Jimdogg was the show off today taking a nice 3 pounder from the kayak.

Many, many people lined the shore in an effort to catch the winning fish. Mothers, fathers, grand parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends joined together for a great day for the Town of Abington.

From boats and along the shore people were giving it their all. Success in fishing is often measured by the smiles on the faces of those who participate.
